prelim details LACC Meeting 6020-07

Congratulations, El Sereno!!!!!!!!!!

Today, LA City Council voted to require supplemental environmental review for a sprawling project on Elephant Hill, one of the last remaining undeveloped hillsides in northeast Los Angeles . This is a tremendous victory for the community of El Sereno.

Together with fellow Council Members Reyes and LaBonge, Council Member Huizar skillfully debunked the myth that the City of Los Angeles was not empowered to do anything but approve the project. And, now, an expansive development will be reviewed to ensure equitable environmental protection for the working-class residents of El Sereno.

The vote was 8 aye's - 2 no's as follows:

Ayes:
Dennis Zine (CD 3) - (213) 473-7003
Tom LaBonge (CD 4) - (213) 473-7004
Bill Rosenthal (CD 11) - (213) 473-7011
Eric Garcetti (CD 13) - (213) 473-7013
Janice Hahn (CD 15) - (213) 473-7015
Ed Reyes (CD 1) - (213) 473-7001
