PLUM Meeting Notice with editorial

When I got the final report from B o E and the City Planning Department the day of the meeting Tuesday, 5-22-07 I wasn't completely surprised to find that they 'South Pass'd' us and again were sitting on their hands while the developers reign gets stronger.
THEY JUST DON'T GET IT ! We're not going away !!
And it's going to be somebody's ass when truth time comes to El Sereno.
Pathetically, the powers that are the B o E and Planning Dept have again given just enough thought to this project to make the wrong call. While they pass the buck to each other as often as humanly possible the real culprit is left completely out of the mix, Mesa Verde Developments did scare up their hot shot legal team of Kevin Kevin and Kevin who might just as well have been on the back 9 at Almansor as testifying to PLUM.
There were many encouraging signs at the meeting, the momentum has shifted slightly and
all of our B, P and M'ing is starting to pay off in the form of who is now paying attention and
what they're hearing.
It's the same old story, the old 'we just don't have the authority' or 'we sold our right to do the right thing to the highest bidder' 'and it ain't you' line they've been hiding under for 16 years.
It is time for us all to call in some of those forgotten campaign promises from our duly elected officials. Being clean and Green put them in office and can keep them there if they are true to their word, it's time to step up, this is where we separate the wheat from the chaff.
And the rest of you... Line up behind me.

CD 14 CONTINUED FROM 5-22-07
Report from the Director of Planning in response to Motion (Huizar - Hahn)
requesting the Planning City Department, the Los Angeles Department of
Building and Safety, and the Bureau of Engineering, with the assistance of
the City Attorney, to prepare a report that determines whether the most
recent grading plans and designs for the Pueblo Subdivision, evaluated
against the previous Environmental Impact Report No. 172-85 (SUB)(REC)
and its associated Statement of Overriding Considerations, trigger the need
for a subsequent or supplemental Environmental Impact Report; whether new
information of substantial importance related to the hydrology of the hillside
triggers the need for a subsequent or supplemental Environmental Impact
Report; whether all feasible mitigation measures, in light of substantial
changes to the project and new information, have been incorporated into the
Pueblo Subdivision project; and whether any other circumstances exist that
would merit conducting further environmental review under the California
Environmental Quality Act (CEQA); including CEQA guidelines section
15162-15164; and that no discretionary, ministerial action, or approval be
granted for the Pueblo Subdivision or any portion thereof by the Planning
Department, the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety, and the
Bureau of Engineering, until the above-described report is presented to the
Council (Elephant Hill in El Sereno).
